BEFORE YOU SHIP
Questions before your next shipment.
What do you need to give me a freight quotation?
Start with import or export, the origin and destination, goods description, container type and quantity. Add gross weight, dimensions and the cargo-ready date if you have them. For door-to-door delivery, include pickup and delivery locations. Our Quick Quotation form puts these details into a message for our team.
Can I get a quote if I do not know the container size?
Yes. Select “Not sure, help me choose” in the quotation form. Share the number of packages, their dimensions and gross weight where possible. We can assess the equipment options, including full container load (FCL) and less than container load (LCL).
Will your quotation include customs, port and delivery charges?
The quotation will follow the scope you request. Tell us whether you need port-to-port freight, customs clearance or door-to-door delivery. Ask the team to identify origin and destination charges, duties and taxes, free days, quotation validity and any exclusions before you approve the booking.
I am importing or exporting for the first time. Can you help?
Yes. We can guide you through onboarding, IEC and AD Code requirements, documentation and customs clearance. The checklist depends on your company, goods and shipment route. Share your product details before arranging dispatch so the team can identify the requirements.
Can you collect from my factory and deliver to my overseas buyer?
Yes. Fourstar coordinates pickup, freight, customs and final delivery through its teams and international partner networks. Share both addresses and the agreed delivery terms so the team can confirm the scope, destination requirements and charges.
Which documents should I keep ready for customs clearance?
Typically, the commercial invoice, packing list, transport document and relevant company registrations are required. Some products also need licences, certificates or regulatory approvals. Our team provides the checklist for your specific goods and checks the documents before filing.
Can you handle reefer, hazardous or oversized cargo?
Share the cargo details before booking. For temperature-sensitive goods, provide the required temperature and handling instructions. For hazardous goods, include the safety data sheet and classification. For oversized cargo, provide weight, dimensions and photographs. Acceptance, equipment and permits need to be confirmed for each shipment.
How quickly will I receive a quotation?
The team will review your enquiry and contact you if anything is missing. Timing depends on the trade lane, equipment, cargo type and charges that need to be confirmed. Include a cargo-ready date and mention any urgent deadline to help us prioritise the enquiry.
How can I avoid detention and demurrage charges?
Confirm the free days at booking, prepare documents before arrival, and plan clearance, pickup and empty-container return. Fourstar coordinates these milestones and flags issues that could affect the schedule. Charges can still apply if the agreed free period is exceeded.
